What was the highlight of Mister Highland Hotel
Good hotel, excellent location some fine tuning required in some areas
The location was amazing
The design of a few rooms was confusing. We were originally given a triple room which was only accessed via some very narrow stairs. This was changed after the first day. We were also helped by a young guy who had his first day working at the hotel but he didn’t even know where our room was which was just odd. There was also a lingering smell of fried breakfast items throughout the downstairs portion of the hotel.

What was the highlight of Mister Highland Hotel
No more than one night
Great location of the hotel in the historic building in the very centre of Amsterdam at the walking distance from Dam square, Red lights district, Central station.
The rooms are stylishly furnished but not so comfortable to stay, with the tap to wash hands right near the bed, with mattresses falling of the beds and no working desk to place your computer and make a call. Also, the rooms are not sound proof and we suffered a lot from a group of noisy neighbours living upstairs with music and drinking in the room at midnight, we had to call at reception so that they calm this group down and finally had to change the room. Cleaning was poor, or none, solely replacement of towels. At the check in we were told that no breakfast was available due to repairs of the dining hall, and yet other tourists had breakfast in the lobby and we were not even offered that option. In general, may be a good option for a one night stay to experience life in the very center of Amsterdam, but not for a week (and we stayed a week).
